For over 25 years, Straight Street has produced galas, fundraisers, and awards nights for Ontario charities, associations, and community organizations — with transparent, all-in budgeting and a team that plans and runs your event.

A fundraising night is different from any other event you’ll run.

The room has one job: to move people to give. That depends on things your guests never notice when they’re done right — an appeal every table can hear, an auctioneer who never has to shout, lighting that carries the moment from dinner to the ask, and a plan steady enough that you’re greeting donors, not troubleshooting a microphone.

We’ve produced some of the region’s most demanding charity galas, and every one comes with one all-in quote — equipment, labour, and transportation — and a Senior AV Producer who owns the night end to end. No surprises on the invoice, and none in the room.

Mary’s Hospital 100th Anniversary Gala, Kitchener — a 1920s-themed gala: staging, lighting, and sound, a custom checkered dance floor, and a built entrance that carried guests into the room.
Children’s Aid Foundation Teddy Bear Affair Gala, Toronto (2009 and 2010) — full production for one of the Foundation’s largest fundraising nights.

Yes, and we build the quote so you can prove it. One all-in number, every dollar accounted for, planned around your priorities — a quote you can defend to a board or a treasurer. We’ve supported Ontario fundraisers and community organizations for decades.

That’s the part we protect first. We design sound for speech and the ask, keep an experienced operator at the console, and carry backups — spare microphones, redundant playback — so a dead mic never becomes a lost bid.

"Our venue has an in-house AV company."

You can almost always bring your own AV partner, and it’s worth comparing. Our quote is all-in, and we help remove the hotel’s markup on equipment — standard venue charges like rigging and power may still apply, and we’ll tell you which is which.

"It's our first gala, and it's a smaller event."

Then we’ll recommend the right production for it — not the most complex one. The standard doesn’t change with the size of the room.
