Keith Kissner founded Score Systems in 1976, a stage lighting company he grew into a respected touring supplier whose equipment and crews travelled with productions across Canada and the United States. Across nearly twenty years he built deep, hands-on experience in live event production. After selling Score Systems to Christie Lites in 1995, Keith drew on that experience to create something more client-focused.

In 1997, he founded Straight Street Event Services in Cambridge with a clear purpose: to provide exceptional audiovisual production backed by honest communication, dependable planning, and experienced people. The company was built on Keith’s reputation for producing high-quality events and his belief that clients deserved more than equipment — they deserved a production partner who understood the entire event, took responsibility for the details, and remained committed from the first conversation through the final moment of the show.

What we won't do — “The standard”

Almost thirty years in, the standard hasn’t moved. There are things we simply won’t do:

We won’t hide costs. Every quote is all-in — equipment, labour, and transportation. The number you approve is the number you pay.
We won’t oversell you. We recommend the right production for your venue, audience, program, and budget — not the most complex one. At Mariposa Folk Festival, that has meant telling the organizers where an artist’s technical rider could be renegotiated to save money without touching the show.
We won’t leave you with gear and no one to run it. The in-house-AV trap is booking a venue’s equipment and finding the labour to operate it wasn’t included. We produce and run your event: experienced operators on every position, a direct line to your lead event staff all day, and follow-up after.
We won’t hide behind technical talk. Every part of your quote is explained in plain terms, so you know what you’re buying and why it’s there.
We won’t only tell you the good news. If something in your plan will cause trouble on show day, we’ll flag it early — while there’s still time and budget to fix it.

The People

Every Straight Street event is designed and owned end-to-end by a senior event producer: Mike Greco, in the industry since 1986; Jeff Blain, since 1996; and Keith Kissner, since 1976. Between them, decades of festivals, galas, conventions, ice shows, and theatre — and one shared habit: they answer the phone.
